For most categories in the US, Canada and Australia, Whatnot takes an 8% seller commission plus a 2.9% + $0.30 payment processing fee — about 10.9% all-in on a typical sale. In the UK and Europe it's 6.67% + VAT commission plus 2.42% + £0.35 + VAT processing. Reduced rates apply to Electronics (5%) and Coins & Money (4%) in US/CA/AU.

Are there listing fees or monthly fees on Whatnot?

No. Whatnot doesn't charge any listing fees, monthly subscriptions or insertion fees. The platform only takes a cut when an item sells — commission + payment processing — which is one of the more seller-friendly structures in 2026.

What's the Premier Shop Program?

Premier Shop is Whatnot's loyalty tier for high-volume sellers. Eligibility is based on sales volume and seller score — it's not something you apply for, Whatnot invites qualified sellers in. The benefit relevant to fees is a 10% commission discount (so 8% becomes 7.2%). Toggle Premier Shop in the advanced settings if you're in the program.

Does shipping count in the fee calculation?

Payment processing (2.9% + $0.30 in US/CA/AU, 2.42% + £0.35 + VAT in UK/EU) is charged on the total order value the buyer pays, which includes shipping the buyer pays. The seller commission is only on the item's final price, not on shipping. If the seller covers shipping via a Whatnot prepaid label, enter that cost in the advanced settings — it's a deduction from your payout, separate from the percentage fees.

Why is the UK/EU rate different from US/CA/AU?

Whatnot operates separate commercial entities in each region with different processor agreements and tax structures. UK/EU sellers pay 6.67% + VAT commission (not 8%) and 2.42% + £0.35 + VAT processing (not 2.9% + $0.30). VAT (20% in the UK; varies by EU country) is applied to the fees only, not to the sale price. The calculator handles the regional split automatically — pick your region.

What about the 0% Commission Days?

Whatnot runs occasional 0% Commission Day promotions — most recently 18 April 2026 — where seller commission is waived for all live and marketplace sales during a defined window. Payment processing still applies. These are one-day events announced ahead of time on the Whatnot blog and help centre; not something you can plan around long-term.

What about the High-Value Orders 0% commission?

Starting 14 January 2026, Whatnot waives commission on the portion of an order above $1,500 for select categories. The first $1,500 is charged at the standard category rate; everything above $1,500 is 0% commission. This is not modelled in the calculator because the eligible category list is narrow and changes — refer to Whatnot's High-Value Orders article for the current list.

Is the Whatnot calculator accurate?

The calculator uses Whatnot's currently-published fee schedule as of 17 May 2026 (verified directly against help.whatnot.com). The output should match your actual seller statement to within a cent. If you see a discrepancy on a real sale, it's almost always either VAT on the buyer-paid shipping (UK/EU only) or a category-specific promotional rate the calculator doesn't model — both of which Whatnot details in your seller statement.
