Why does the same item show different fees on each platform?

Each marketplace's fee structure is fundamentally different. eBay layers Final Value Fee + per-order fee + optional add-ons. Depop charges a flat regional commission (0% in US/UK, 10% in AU/EU) plus payment processing. Grailed is a flat 9% plus Stripe. Etsy bundles a listing fee, transaction fee, processing, Offsite Ads and a Regulatory Operating Fee. Poshmark is a two-tier flat $2.95-or-20% model. Mercari is a flat 10% on item + shipping. Vinted is genuinely 0% for sellers. Different mixes of fixed vs percentage fees mean different platforms win at different price points.

Which platform takes the smallest cut?

It depends entirely on the sale price and your market. In Europe, Vinted's 0% seller fee is unbeatable on items where Vinted's audience matches your inventory. In the US, Poshmark's flat $2.95 wins below $15 USD. From $15 to ~$50, Grailed's flat 9% (no per-order fee) often beats eBay if you don't have an eBay store subscription. Not in this comparison view — eBay's category-specific FVF rates (Heavy Equipment 3%, Real Estate 0%, Guitars & Basses 7.25%, etc.) are only available in the dedicated eBay calculator. The comparison uses eBay's "most categories" rate as the default. For category-specific accuracy, switch to the dedicated tool.

Why is my currency not showing every platform?

Mercari is USD only — it closed its UK marketplace in 2022 and Japan-export shortly after. Poshmark closed its Australian, UK and Indian operations in November 2023 — it now only supports USD and CAD. Depop supports USD/EUR/GBP/AUD only. Vinted operates in 16 markets but this comparison covers its three biggest currencies (EUR, GBP, USD).
